Private Label Rights

What is PLR or private label rights? These are products, usually e-books, articles, or software, that you receive the right to sell as if you were the creator of the product.

There are two main ways to obtain private label rights products. One is to join a membership site that then gives you new PLR products every month. These can cost up to $100 a month.

The second way to obtain PLR products is to join one of more of the many giveaway programs on the net. There are several big ones in December and in March. You may find them at other times. Do a search on “PLR giveaway programs” and you will find a large number of both ways to obtain private label products.

Different products come with different rights. Some come with master resell rights, which allows you to do almost anything with the product. Others come with only resell rights. Some come with private label rights. When you get them be sure to read and understand what rights you received with the product.

A word of caution on getting resale rights products from membership sites. Some PLR membership sites require you to stop using the products when you cease being a member of the site. Read the fine print and avoid these sites.

A word in favor of resell rights membership sites. Their products are usually “new”, so you have less competition in the marketplace selling them.

With the PLR giveaways you will be temped to download everything. This can easily result in information overload and a very cluttered hard drive. Avoid this temptation and only download the resell rights products that you will use, either for yourself or to monetize.

Also make a list of the products that you download, what they do, where you put them on your computer, what rights you have with them, and what you were planning to do with them. Most people fail to do this and end up never using any of the PLR products.

It would also be a good idea to create a new email account to use only for the giveaways. Each time you desire to download a resell product the vendor will ask for your email and enter you into his or her mailing list. They will send you good information in their ezyme, however you can also end up receiving a large number of emails. It is better to have all of these newsletters in one place separate from your regular email.
